Collection: Dachshund
he Dachshund, often known as the "wiener dog" or "sausage dog," is a small but distinctive breed with a long body and short legs. Originating in Germany, it was bred for hunting badgers, which is reflected in its name—"Dachs" meaning badger and "Hund" meaning dog. Despite its compact size, the Dachshund has a strong, sturdy build, perfect for digging and burrowing. Its body is long and low to the ground, giving it that unmistakable elongated appearance, while its legs are short and stout. Dachshunds come in three coat varieties: smooth, long-haired, and wire-haired, and their coats can be a variety of colors, from solid shades like red or black to more unique patterns like dappled or brindle.
They have a distinct head shape, with long muzzles, expressive almond-shaped eyes, and large, floppy ears that give them an endearing appearance. Their tails are often carried high, adding to their cheerful and lively personality.
